Kinny who makes a good fixed blade tactical knife and what should I look for? I've heard blackhawk tangtang was good but it's like 13" long. Then I saw the crkt ultima is good and I like their Anubis.

Tactical? That word gets thrown around too much. What are you going to use it for? Defense? Box cutter? I think a knife is like a firearm. You get whatever it's comfy to you and learn to be proficient at it. Another thing is a box cutter can be a defense knife when needed, but a defense knife should never be a box cutter. It ruins the edge every time you cut something with it. That's why I carry two knife at times.

![]() I was wondering the same thing is a knife a knife because I got one of those husky brand pocket knife myself for cutting boxes at work. So what kind of defense knife would you consider getting just for defense in my case? |

Best thing to do is go to gun shows and handle some knives at the knife booth. Get one that feels good in your hand and that you can deploy easy and fast. I have a Spyerco Delica 3, but also carry a Coldsteel Recon-1 Tanto at times. Both are easy to deploy, but my Coldsteel has been beat to crap because it is my utility knife that's almost indestructable to me. There is a saying, 1 is none, 2 is 1. Always have backups. lol
